RIC Centre

The RIC Centre Incubator recruits companies that have a viable business on the verge of launching to the next level of growth. Our mission is to define their path to market, in part, by exploring and securing partnerships that will open access to capital, to connections and to paying customers.

In partnership with Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC) and GreenCentre Canada, we offer world-class research and support services to help fast track innovative businesses to market. The incubator includes five office spaces where selected clients take up residence and have access to accelerated mentoring services for a period of six months.

New businesses built on innovation need help opening doors and making essential connections that will grow their business and accelerate their market expansion. The RIC Centre Incubator offers a dynamic, collaborative environment along with the global credibility of XRCC and leading expertise of GreenCentre Canada, to provide low-cost yet, essential business-building services.

CHAR Technologies, an incubator graduate, created a unique chemical that allows biogas companies to capture hydrogen sulfide in methane, making it cleaner and producing useful fertilizer in the process. “By having access to a fully outfitted lab and office at the same location [XRCC], we were able to rapidly accelerate our development. We were able to accelerate quickly through some of the critical steps in our commercial launch,” said Andrew White, CEO of CHAR Technologies.

Another incubator graduate, NextGrid, developed a combined heat and power system for commercial customers to generate their own electricity on demand as needed. They found that the RIC centre creates a single voice to help break down the silos when entrepreneurs need to move fast. The RIC Centre, along with their leading innovation partners, provide startups access to lab space, business, legal and funding resources they need to fast-track their business to market.
