Guelph is one of Canada’s fastest growing Cities! Founded in 1827 by John Galt, Guelph got its name from one of the British Royal Families hence it is now affectionately known as the “Royal City”. Guelph resembles a European city centre, complete with squares, broad main streets and narrow side streets.

Our prominent buildings were erected using Guelph’s own locally quarried, warm-hued limestone giving a visual unity to the older parts of the City. Located in the heart of Wellington County, Guelph is easily accessible to many surrounding Cities. We are 28km east of Waterloo and 100 km west of downtown Toronto with easy access to Highway 401.

Guelph is a vibrant and diverse community with a population over 120,000 and quickly growing. The University of Guelph has approximately 20,000 students with international students representing over 100 countries. The University of Guelph is consistently ranked as a top comprehensive university in Canada by MacLeans magazine and given top marks by the Globe and Mail. Its strengths are its reputation, innovative research-intensive programs and lively campus life.

Guelph is highly recognized for its low crime rates, clean environment and high standard of living and isconsistently ranked as one of Canada’s best places to live. It has been characterized as having the “right balance of city life and small town friendliness”. For these reasons, and with our nationally low unemployment people continue to move here.

According to the Guelph and District Association of Realtors®, sales were up 7.5% in August with an averageprice of $371,440.This was an increase of 5.2% from August 2014.Year-to-date average prices were up 5% from 2014 to $376,995. In the first eight months of this year we are now 12.9% ahead of 2014 sales and on our way to what should be a record-breaking year.
