Halton Region is committed to supporting and growing a strong local economy and ensuring businesses succeed throughout the region.

When companies locate in Halton, they are choosing one of the best places to do business in Canada. Businesses in our area benefit from the deep talent pool of professionals, proximity to leading educational institutions, easy access to major markets and a high quality of life that is second to none.

Each year, through the Halton Business Conditions Survey, we ask Halton businesses how they feel about the desirability of Halton as a business location, the economic conditions they face and their outlook for the upcoming year. The results speak for themselves. In 2016, over 90 per cent of respondents are optimistic about the future and expect economic conditions in Halton to remain stable or improve. Seven out of 10 business owners are making productivity investments over the next 12 months, and one third of businesses intend to hire additional staff over the next 12 months.

Halton Region’s Economic Development team provides resources and services for businesses, including information about local demographics and statistics related to Halton’s economic climate, site selection assistance, as well as small business seminars and one-on- one business consultations. Halton’s Economic Development team also works in partnership with each of our local municipalities, Haltech (Halton’s Regional Innovation Centre), and the Chambers of Commerce to offer a supportive business environment that includes innovation centres, networking events and scale-up and expansion assistance.

Please visit Halton to find out why Halton Region is a great place to invest and how we can support the success of your business.
