Mount Pleasant village

All aboard in this transit-focused urban community built around a new Mount Pleasant GO commuter train station, inter-city rail line and transit. At its heart is Mount Pleasant Square, a library and a community centre in restored historic CPR train station. The area includes live-work units, retail, and lots of room to walk, bike and play.

Castlemore

This suburban area in the northeast corner of the city encompasses several new residential developments, but is best known for its many luxurious homes and large stately estates on the shores of the Humber River.

Brampton Central Area

The Central Area of Brampton is considered one of the most urbanized areas of the city supporting a population of approximately 35,000 people and over

1,500 businesses. This seven kilometre stretch along Queen Street is at the heart of a growing and culturally diverse city. The corridor benefits from an exciting transformation with the opening of many new residential projects and the addition of a new rapid transit system (Zum), connecting Downtown Brampton to York University and Humber College.

As part of the Central Area, the Downtown draws over half a million people annually to unique festivals and events. The Downtown is the hub of the creative economy anchored by the Rose Theatre, Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) and Garden Square. The Downtown is also host to Brampton’s well known Farmers Market that attracts over 100,000 people every summer.

Churchville

This rural hamlet in the southwest corner of the city, deep in the Credit River Valley, has been designated a heritage community. First settled 200 years ago, a number of original, timber-frame buildings survive to this day.

The community is stepped in history – some residents have been here for generations.
